Olle Kämpe Email: olle.kampe@medsci.uu.se Olle Kämpe is professor if molecular medicine at Uppsala University and consultant in endocrinology at Uppsala University Hospital. The Centre for Autoimmunity and Inflammation in Uppsala, led by Professor Olle Kämpe, focuses on developing serological and molecular methods to study the immune response in autoimmune disorders on both the B cell and T cell levels. The group has made a number of important discoveries in the field including more than 10 well characterised autoantigens in APS I. The ongoing work is focused on further identification of key autoantigens, e.g. in the parathyroid glands and in various tissues for the mouse model of APS I, but also in defining the T cell epitopes against the already characterised B cell autoantigens. The group has an established collaboration with the Swedish Agricultural University and the Broad Institute on comparative genomics. Within the Faculty of Medicine at Uppsala University cutting edge platforms for genetics, microarray and proteomics are available. A longstanding strong collaboration with the faculty of veterinary medicine at the Swedish Agricultural University in Uppsala with an emphasis on comparative genetics of domestic animals such as dog, pig and horse is established. In Euradrenal, Professor Kämpe’s group will be a core laboratory for analysis of 21-hydroxylase autoantibodies and related autoantibodies, and will be deeply involved in the tetramer based assay for T cell reactivity against 21OH and SCC.
