Eystein Husebye is professor and consultant in endocrinology at the University of Bergen and Haukeland University Hospital. He did a PhD stimulus-secretion coupling in chromaffin cells and then specialized in internal medicine and endocrinology at Uppsala University Hospital.

For the last 4 years Eystein Husebye has been Partner in the EU-FP6 project EURAPS.

A national patient registry on patients with Addison’s disease including APS I is established Bergen by the Institute of Medicine, University of Bergen and Haukeland University Hospital. Within the Faculty of Medicine at UiB, platforms for SNP-analysis, high-throughput sequencing, microarray, molecular imaging and proteomics are available.

Professor Husebye`s group are working on a range of projects related to Addison’s disease and polyendocrine syndromes, ranging from genetic analysis, studies of immune functions to epidemiology and quality of life.
